What is the difference between a standard PVC fabric and MICOOSON Hypalon neoprene fabric? Advantages and disadvantages.

PVC is a thermoplastic whereas Hypalon Neoprene is a synthetic rubber.

PVC is a plastic material, easily industrialized with a low product cost but also entails some disadvantages compared to MICOOSON Hypalon.

It is true that Hypalon, due to its raw material, is slightly more expensive than PVC, but over time, this difference is significant.

The advantages of PVC are:

• The weight

The advantages of MICOOSON Hypalon neoprene:

• The UV resistance
• Longevity (a hypalon float can last up to 25 years if well maintained)
• Resistance to extreme temperatures, ideal for tropical areas
• Resistance to folding, shocks, friction, and abrasion
• Ease of repair thanks to the material and cold bonding
• Resistance to hydrocarbons

• Resale value The disadvantages of PVC are:

• Sensitivity and aging from UV
• More difficult repairs
• Not recommended for intensive use
• Resale value

The disadvantages of Hypalon are:

• Weight
• Purchase price

If you want a boat that can be easily repaired, more resistant to the elements, and maintain a strong resale value, choosing Hypalon is preferable.
Hypalon can last many years if well maintained with MICOOSON products (New magic / Shmuffex / Gumemp100).

Which MICOOSON fabric range should I choose for my semi-rigid boat?

The main criterion to consider when choosing your fabric is the length of your inflatable boat, but it is also preferable to reuse the same quality as the initial fabric (your dealer can assist you).

In our online store, you can purchase our products by the linear meter (100x145cm), up to a limit of 5000 linear meters per reference, which is sufficient for individual use or for repairers.

What products do you recommend for daily maintenance of my semi-rigid float?

In addition to our repair fabrics, MICOOSON offers a range of maintenance products for your inflatable boat:

- Degreasing cleaners, especially before applying our neoprene fabrics, or more generally to remove grime, persistent grease stains, or other residues of old waxes and silicones.

- Antifungal products to eliminate fungi and mold.

- Protective waxes to shield your vessel from UV rays and salt, for more shine and resistance.

What is a rubrail? What is its purpose?

These are profiled rubber strips, to be glued with MICOOSON Neoprene glue, providing protection against impacts and harmful friction to your semi-rigid boat (pontoons, buoys, floating objects, rocks).

The rubrails adapt to all types of tubes floaters: Zodiac, Bombard, Capelli, Brig, Nueva Jolly, Zar Formenti, SALPA, SELVA, 3D Tender, Highfield, Joker Boat…

How is the delivery of your nautical repair and maintenance products organized?

They are packaged by the linear meter for fabrics.

In 5 and 25-liter cans for glue and 750ml for the hardener.
